Training
Maritime
IRIS Security Limited can offer personal safety training, and first contact training to seafarers.
It is acknowledged that many seafarers are ill-equipped or trained to deal with refractory or violent stowaways.
In some instances, this has led to violent assault resulting in grievous bodily harm, destruction of property and the infrastructure of a vessel, with seafarers doing whatever possible to defend themselves with no understanding of reasonable force or control techniques, leading to further injury and breaches of the human rights act.
Our aim is to arm seafarers with the knowledge and skills to manage these incidents from first contact prior to hand over to a security team, ensuring a safe working environment in unexpected circumstances.
Training will include, conflict management and resolution, the practical application of physical control skills, rigid bar handcuff and plastic cuff training, limb restraints, search procedures, and premises search.
Aviation
An unruly passenger is someone who, by action or stated intent, jeopardizes or might jeopardize the safety of the aircraft, persons, or property therein or the accepted level of good order and discipline on board
There is growing concern from airlines, governments and passengers at the increasing frequency and severity of these incidents that involve violence against crew and other passengers, harassment, and failure to comply with safety and public health instructions.
These are committed by a minority of passengers, unruly incidents have a disproportionate impact, threatening safety, disrupting other passengers and crew and causing delays and diversions.
Our aim is to arm crew with the knowledge and skills to notice changes in passenger behaviour defusing and preventing incidents before they begin, but also provide the practical application of physical control skills, rigid bar handcuff, plastic cuff training, and limb restraints, within a confined area, given crew the confidence to deal with volatile situations.
